“Every Filipino Child Deserves to Finish School”
Every Filipino child deserves to finish school and pursue his dreams. However, the sad reality is that Filipino children are not given the quality education they would require to become really productive in the future. The delivery of quality education is hampered by government’s limited resources which alone cannot meet the demand of a growing student population.
As such, we have created the Adopt A School program.
Adopt A School gives private institutions and individuals the opportunity to participate in the effort to improve the quality of public education in the Philippines. This can be done by providing assistance in the construction of new classrooms and training of teachers, providing for more textbooks, learning support facilities, health and nutrition interventions, and other initiatives as presented in various packages. Aside from the goodwill generated by their efforts, the good news is that taxpayers can avail of up to 150 percent allowable tax deduction under Republic Act 8525.
Since 1998, the private sector has been actively involved in the program. Over 300 Adopt A School donors have contributed more than two billion pesos to public education, benefiting around 22,000 public elementary and high schools throughout the country.
While we are grateful for their generous contribution, so much more remains to be done.
We therefore call on our friends in the private sector and ask them to be counted in this partnership for education. We are all stakeholders in the nation’s development. And education remains as our most vital social concern.
Let us all invest in our nation’s future today.
Support the Adopt A School program.
