Pasig City (18 August) — The Department of Education (DepEd) has clarified that donors to its Adopt-A-School program are extended only tax credits, not rebates.
“DepEd does not provide a rebate scheme for corporations donating to the Department through its Adopt-A-School Program; instead, DepEd provides a tax incentive which corporations can avail of when they donate through Adopt-A-School,” according to the DepEd advisory released today.
DepEd cited Revenue Regulations No. 10-2003 of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), which outlines the guidelines on the implementation of tax incentives provisions under Republic Act No. 8525, otherwise known as the “Adopt-A-School Act of 1998.”
For further queries about Adopt-A-School and the tax incentive, interested parties may contact Director Aurora Felizardo of the Adopt-A-School Secretariat, telephone 638-8637 or Mobile 0916-5526654. (DepEd/PIA)
